Transcontinental

When Mike Hall dreamed up the Transcontinental Race in 2013, he created a beautifully hard event. Simple in design but complex in execution, it pushed riders to their limits and beyond. A whole continent to cross by road using pedal power alone, via a series of mandatory parcours and control points with a clock that never stops: nothing quite like it had ever been seen before. In its first decade, the race has generated thousands of stories of determination, courage, friendship and hospitality...and midnight petrol station raids, wild dogs, bus stop bivvies, mechanicals and chaos. This book gathers those stories , celebrating how the TCR reshaped cycling for riders and spectators alike, and stands as a tribute to Hall's vision and his enduring principles: integrity, autonomy, technology, community and history.
