The Salzkammergut hiking atlas offers 40 selected hikes with hiking maps for the entire region at a scale of 1:40,000.
The Salzkammergut is a real hiking and mountaineering paradise for both families and experienced mountaineers. It enchants with its impressive rock formations, adventurous gorges and canyons, roaring waterfalls, extensive cave systems, crystal-clear lakes, highly sensitive moors and paradisiacal alpine pastures.
In addition to simple walks and tours around the lake, this hiking guide presents panoramic tours with great views, idyllic river and alpine hikes, demanding summit climbs and even high mountain hikes with climbing passages.

For our hiking atlas we have selected 40 of the most beautiful routes, which are spread over the eight tourist regions in the Salzkammergut. After a detailed overview of the region, we start in the historic Dachstein Salzkammergut , turn to the Ausseerland and make a detour to the imperial city of Bad Ischl . Via the fabulous Wolfgangsee with its fantastic mountain scenery, we come in the Fuschlsee region to the gates of the festival city of Salzburg, before we head east into the tourist regions of Mondsee-Irrsee and Attersee-Attergau and the Traunsee-Almtal region, the easternmost ?gateway? to the Salzkammergut.
Long-distance hiking trails in the Salzkammergut
In addition to the Weg des Buches , the Salzalpensteig and the Josefweg , the Salzkammergut BergeSeen Trail has also found its way into this hiking atlas and is presented in more detail in a separate chapter. The 20 classic stages are supplemented by alpine and regional stages, making the long-distance trail a varied experience for all skill levels.
