Erfurt and the surrounding area

Nature, art and culture await hikers and cyclists around the Thuringian state capital. Rich history, old town centers worth seeing and a magnificent landscape characterize the green heart of Germany. Churches, castles, museums and traces of the Reformation are waiting to be discovered. Erfurt itself offers numerous sights, but there is also a lot to experience in the surrounding area. Cycling and hiking trails lead through Burgenland Drei Gleichen, to the Bratwurst Museum, a zoo, an open-air museum and an archaeological experimental area.
