Have you ever been to the Lake District? It's a magical place. It has many quiet corners, and in these corners, behind the mountains and hidden in the trees, lie many untold secrets ... Trapped in Moonshine Mine by Chris Rodgers tells tales of myth and mystery in the mountains, where terrible creatures prowl, dogs and ghosts can be heroes, and boys and girls get lost in their adventures.
Chris Rodgers was born in Preston in 1950, and spent most of his working life in local government. Chris's writing is inspired by his love of walking on the fells of the Lake District and also farther afield in Wales and Scotland. His storytelling follows a long tradition of picking up on historical themes and ancient places in the Lake District and he has written numerous articles including a feature on climbing Scafell via Lord's Rake, for Trail magazine. Chris is married to Liz and they have two grown-up children. He has told many of his real-life adventures to his grandchildren, who always ask if they are really true stories.
For age group 8-10.
