2008 MEIJE PIC ORIENTALE XMAS CARDS

This card is taken from the Alpine Club’s collection of paintings No 16. Edward Compton was a major alpine artist who usually worked in watercolour or gouache. He was also a fine alpinist with a string of important first ascents to his name. He lived for most of his life on the shores of the Starnbergersee in Bavaria and best collection of his work is held by the Alpine Museum in Innsbruck.
